After Effectively Accomplishing Nothing, Holmgren is Out in Cleveland

The short and mostly miserable Mike Holmgren Era in Cleveland has come to an end.

Jimmy Haslam III was approved as the new Browns owner by the NFL on Tuesday, and he wasted no time in making an impact statement: Just minutes after his approval, Haslam announced Holmgren was out as the team's president. Effective Oct. 25, Holmgren's duties will be handled by new team CEO Joe Banner, previously of the Philadelphia Eagles. However, Haslam said Holmgren would remain with the team (in some capacity) through the end of the year to help aid in the team's executive transition.

The announcement ends Holmgren's dismal tenure with the Browns--a tenure that began with great hope, only two years ago. Hired by former Browns owner Randy Lerner--a man who always seemed far more interested in Aston Villa, his English Premier League soccer club, than the Browns--Holmgren was tasked with turning a losing franchise into a winner.

Suffice to say, he failed. Since Holmgren's arrival, the Browns have posted a woeful .263 winning percentage, second-worst in the league. They also have yet to find a winning coach, a franchise quarterback or, well, any kind of identity. They simply remain the Cleveland Browns, perennial losers.

In that sense, Holmgren's removal is hardly surprising. And though Haslam said on Tuesday that he would not make any more major moves before the end of the season, coach Pat Shurmur must know that he needs to win, and win immediately, if he has any hope of keeping his job into 2013. - Tim Hyland

Was Suh's Hit on Cutler 'Dirty?' Opinions Differ

An unusual NFL season--one that has been marked by a bizarre and unnecessary referee labor situation, an ongoing investigation into an alleged-but-hazy bounty scheme and a series of accusations regarding dirty play--continued its unusual course this week.

This time, the target of the hey-that's-not-cool-man talk is none other than Detroit Lions star defensive lineman Ndamakong Suh, who drew some heat from Bears wideout Brandon Marshall for his controversial-yet-completely-legal (according to the NFL) hit on quarterback Jay Cutler on Monday night.

On the play in question, Suh first grabbed Cutler by the arm, then wrapped him up and drove him head-first into the turf. As he did so, Suh had his elbow firmly lodged against the quarterback's head, making it appear as though he intentionally drove Cutler's head into the ground so as to make the hit more severe. No flag was thrown on the play, however, and an ESPN report later said that the NFL considered it to be completely legal. Cutler, too, has said he believed the hit was a clean one.

Marshall, however, took issue with the it, and tweeted after the game that Suh ought to strive to "succeed with character" (which is to say, apparently, he ought to avoid driving quarterbacks head-first into the turf). Speaking to ESPN on Tuesday, Marshall continued to complain about the hit, calling it "dirty." "

"That was dirty," Marshall said. "[Suh] can be one of the best D-tackles that ever done it, but he cannot do that that way. If you look at it, c'mon man, this is not wrestling. You don't do that. That's not clean."

Suh, for his part, said it was "simply a football play," adding that he can't "control his momentum" when chasing a quarterback. Cutler, who said he expects to be cleared to play this week, can attest to precisely that.

With Gronkowski Injured, More TE Troubles for the Pats

The Patriots road to the Super Bowl just hit a major speed bump.

Star tight end / cult figure Rob Gronkowski, aka "Gronk," suffered a fractured arm late in the Patriots' 59-24 blowout of the Colts on Sunday, and according to an ESPN report, the break was serious enough to require surgery. That surgery happened on Monday and it is widely expected that Gronkowski will now be out of action for as long as six weeks.

The injury is especially problematic for the Pats because they are also still without Aaron Hernandez, who has been injured since Week 2. It is expected that Hernandez may be able to return soon, but there has been no official word from the team just yet.

So far this season, Gronkowski has caught 53 passes for 748 yards and 10 touchdowns, cementing his status as one of the most dangerous tight ends in the game. Against the Colts, he was especially effective, catching seven balls for 137 yards and two touchdowns. Last year, Gronkowski enjoyed a breakout season, catching 90 passes for 1,327 yards and 17 touchdowns, the most ever caught in a single season by a tight end. - Tim Hyland

Goodell: Evidence of Bountygate is 'Extensive'

Roger Goodell is not backing down.

Despite the fact that his original suspensions of the four New Orleans Saints players involved in the so-called "Bountygate" scandal were reversed by an NFL appeals committee, the commissioner on Tuesday decided once more to punish the four players--linebacker Scott Fujita (now with the Cleveland Browns), defensive end Anthony Hargrove (now with the Green Bay Packers), linebacker Jonathan Vilma and defensive end Will Smith.

Fujita saw his penalty reduced to just a one-game suspension, and Hargrove's penalty was reduced from eight games to seven. But Goodell upheld the original punishments levied against Vilma and Smith.

In a memo sent to all NFL teams, Goodell explained that he kept the punishments in place because, quite simply, there was too much evidence indicating that the Saints players did, in fact, take part in the bounty scheme.

Said Goodell: "The quality, specificity and scope of the evidence supporting the findings of conduct detrimental (to the game) are far greater and more extensive than ordinarily available in such cases."

Not surprisingly, the NFL Players Association backed the players and blasted the commissioner.

"For more than six months, the NFL has ignored the facts, abused the process outlined in our collective bargaining agreement and failed to produce evidence that the players intended to injure anyone, ever," the NFLPA said in a statement. "The only evidence that exists is the league's gross violation of fair due process, transparency and impartiality during this process. Truth and fairness have been the casualties of the league's refusal to admit that it might have made a mistake."

Spurrier Says Alabama Could Beat 'A Couple' NFL Teams. Please Ignore Him.

Ah, time to dig up this mindless debate once more: The debate over whether it really is possible for a really, really good college football team to beat a really, really bad NFL team.

South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier, speaking on the Dan Patrick Show this week, said he believed that Nick Saban's current Crimson Tide team is so good that it could probably beat "a couple" of the NFL's weaker squads (looking at you, Chiefs/Jags/Browns).

Said Spurrier: "[Alabama looks] like they could beat a couple of those NFL teams that I've watched on Sundays. I think a lot of the oddsmakers out there that usually know what's going on, I'd guess that Alabama would be favored a little bit."

It may have been a mindless, harmless passing remark. It may have been Spurrier being Spurrier--hyping up the Tide enough to set them up for a big fall. I mean, the latter is certainly a possibility, as few coaches in recent memory have enjoyed gamesmanship more than the Ball Coach.

That being said, the assertion is ridiculous.

Yes, the Tide are fantastic. And yes, they are very likely the best team in college football ... by a wide margin.

But the fact remains that even the most awful NFL team (and I am well-acquainted with teams of that vintage, as I grew up in Cleveland) is stocked with players who were stars and/or physical standouts at the college level. In essence, every NFL team is a college all-star team. No college team, even a team as good (and as well coached) as Alabama, would even stand a chance.

And yeah, that's coming from me, a guy who makes no bones about the fact that I enjoy the college game more (but that's a debate for another time).

In other words, let us move on, shall we? There's nothing to see here. - Tim Hyland

Texans Accuse Titans OT Stewart of 'Dirty' Play

Last week, it was Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III making accusations of dirty play against the St. Louis Rams.

This week, it's the Houston Texans--as in, several Houston Texans--who are making the claims, and their target is Tennessee Titans offensive tackle David Stewart.

The Houston Chronicle this week quoted several Texans making claims that Stewart engaged in such over-the-line tactics as pulling the hair of defensive end Brooks Reed and throwing punches. Texans defensive end Antonio Smith went so far as to say that Stewart was doing things he'd "never seen before."

Said Smith: "I saw him try to pull (Reed's) hair out, tried to ride somebody's back, which I thought was kind of funny, actually."

Added linebacker Connor Barwin: "Everybody will say it. (Stewart) is a dirty player. He threw a punch at me. He threw a punch at Brooks."

Not surprisingly, Titans quarterback Matt Hasselback defended his teammate, suggesting that any dirty tactics employed by Stewart were matched by similar actions from the Texans.

"I saw people punch (Stewart) in the face, and there was no (flag)," Hasselbeck said. "I don't know what to say. I guess his reputation got him." - Tim Hyland

Seahawks CB Sherman: 'Brady Bunch' in New England Runs 'Gimmick Offense'

Yeah, it was just one win. And a one-point win, at that.

But at least in the mind of Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, his team's 24-23 victory over the Patriots on this weekend was nothing short of a referendum on the state of mighty New England.

What Sherman seems to be telling the world, quite simply, is this: The Seahawks are legit. And the Patriots are not. Not anymore, at least.

The second-year cornerback made big waves on Sunday when he was seen talking trash to Patriots quarterback Tom Brady after the conclusion of Sunday's game. What, exactly, was the message he wanted to deliver? Well, as Sherman explained to the Tacoma News-Tribune: "Me and [safety Earl Thomas] walked up to him and said, 'We're greater than you. We're better than you. You're just a man--we're a team."

Sherman also referred to the Patriots as "the Brady Bunch," and accused New England of running a "gimmick offense" that the Seahawks easily figured out. Brady threw two interceptions on the day, including one to Sherman.

"[The media] is going to say, 'What's wrong? He threw two picks.' Well, he should have thrown five picks," Sherman told the News-Tribune. "If Earl catches every one, then it's a long day for him. People don't understand. We've got great players out here. We've got great players in the Pacific Northwest. The Seattle Seahawks have a lot of talent. People, they don't look at the film. They don't analyze anything. That's why these analysts and commentators need to shut their mouth." - Tim Hyland

Under-Fire Reid Says Eagles' Problems Are 'Correctable'

Living here in Philadelphia, I can tell you this much: Yes, Eagles fans are just as passionate (and, by extension, just as critical and just as impatient) as you've heard they are.

And so, it's no surprise, given the current state of this team, that longtime coach Andy Reid finds himself on the hotseat like never before.

Yes, in recent years there have been some calls for Reid to be fired--there simply isn't any question that, over the past half-decade or so, this franchise has very much hit a plateau--but those calls seem louder today than ever before. Reid's Eagles are now 3-5 after a less-than-inspiring 28-13 loss to the Saints on Monday night, and while there is certainly time for the Eagles to recover, the question that many fans have at this point is whether Reid is actually capable of engineering that turnaround.

Whatever spark there used to be around this franchise--whatever sense of belief that once permeated the camp, year after year--has faded away, and there is a sense around town that the time finally has come for Reid, who has some very good years in Philly, to step aside.

Reid, as you might imagine, views things differently

After the loss to the Saints, Reid told reports that all of the problems currently ailing the Eagles--including their apparent inability to protect the struggling Michael Vick, who was under pressure all night--are "correctable mistakes." He said for the team to achieve its goals, it just needs to "do a better job."

"And that starts with me," Reid said.

NFL, Officials End Impasse

America's long national nightmare is over.

On Wednesday night, after three weeks of mostly dismal officiating from the NFL's overmatched replacement refs, the league and its real officials finally came to an agreement on a new labor deal. The compromise, months in the making, arrived just in time to allow the officials to return to action for Thursday night's showdown between the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens.

The NFL said its new deal with the officials would stretch over the next eight years--the longest contract between the two parties in league history. As part of the agreement, the officials accepted changes to their pension and retirement plans (the pension plan, in particular, was a major sticking point during the negotiations) but will also see their compensation rise to $173,000 per year by 2013 (up from $149,000 per year in 2011) and $205,000 by 2019.

Though the deal must be formally approved by the NFL Referees Association later this week, real officials will work the Thursday night game anyway.

"The long-term future of our game requires that we seek improvement in every area, including officiating," Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement. "This agreement supports long-term reforms that will make officiating better. The teams, players and fans want and deserve both consistency and quality in officiating. We look forward to having the finest officials in sports back on the field, and I want to give a special thanks to NFL fans for their passion. Now it's time to put the focus back on the teams and players where it belongs." - Tim Hyland

Belichick Fined $50K for Grabbing Official

No, the replacement refs aren't any good. We can all agree on that.

But for coaches, the old rules still apply: No matter how bad the refs perform, and no matter how frustrated you get, you just can't put your hands on an official.

That's a lesson the NFL sent once again on Wednesday, as it announced that it would fine Patriots coach Bill Belichick $50,000 for his actions at the end of his team's 31-30 loss to the Ravens on Sunday night. Upset with the officiating in a game that concluded with a controversial game-winning field goal from the Ravens, Belichick grabbed replacement ref and line judge Esteban Garza by the arm as the two were running off the field.

The coach says he was hoping to get an answer as to whether the field goal would be reviewed. Several commentators have contended over the past few days that it was incorrectly called "good."

Belichick's actions--which even he called "inappropriate"--came just days after the league warned coaches to be respectful in their interactions with the replacement officials, who have struggled to keep up with the pace of the game. The replacements are working the games as the league continues to battle with its regular officials, who were locked out in a labor dispute several months ago.

In a very brief and Belichick-ian statement released by the Patriots on Wednesday, the coach said the following: "It was inappropriate for me to contact the official. I take responsibility for what happened. I accept the discipline and I apologize for the incident Sunday night in Baltimore."

Extra Note on Already Submitted Codes
You have to first beat the game in order to get these code to work. Only restore health and restore ammo work without beating the game. You must unlock the "Secret Code" unlockable to get all of the others to work. To easily do this, play as Aragorn untill you get to level 10, then play through the whole game as him again. Note: don't start a new game, just replay all the levels; this will give him more experience points. Make sure you buy all of Aragorn's combos and upgrades, then play his secret level. When you beat it, you unlock a secret level with the secret character, beat it, and you unlock the codes. Now you can play through the whole game as the secret character!

Final Fantasy X Cheats

Secret Aeon ANIMA
To obtain Anima, a secret aeon and the only way to obtain the Moon Sigil you need to first have obtained the airship. You gain access to the Airship after defeating Yunalesca in Zanakand. Once in possession of the airship go to the hidden area Bajj Temple. When you go there, dive off the ledge to see a short cut scene of Tidus, Wakka, and Rikku. Swim towards the green dot and a fight should appear between Tidus, Wakka, and Rikku. The Boss is Geosangengo or something similar. Protection against Petrification and Death is vital! If you get petrified you will sink and smash on the sea bottom, thus the character can't be revived by a Phoenix Down and will no longer take part in the battle. Using Rikku's technique spare change is an easy way of inflicting plenty of damage especially if you have charged her celestrial wepon to its maximum power. Another tip is, with any boss fight as well, always have the overdrive gauges on top. Once Geosangengo is defeated you can swim through the door (the green dot mentioned earlier) and you can find the Venus Crest here too. Once inside the door to the hidden chamber follow the path and you will come to a room with a seal in it. If you touch the statues in the room some will light up. Each Statue represents a Cloister of Trails. If you obtained the hidden treasure the Statue's represent Cloister it will light up. You can re-enter the Cloisters if you didn't get the bonus item so don't worry. If you have already have obtained all the hidden treasure chests then the seal will be broken and you can claim your prize! Once you have obtained Anima you can fight Belgimine's Anima. Then, if you have obtained the right items you can enter the Magus Sister's faith. And you can then fight Belgimine's Magus Sisters. If you defeat them you can send Belgimine to the Farplane, obtain the Moon Sigil and get Yuna's Celestrial Weapon!

Overdrives
Auron: Find different Jeckt Spheres laying about the world. Some of these will give Auron a new Overdrive. In order to get Auron's final overdrive, you must find all ten.

Kimari: Use the Dragon Sword, which ability to drain HP and MP from the enemy. If the enemy has a Blue magic skill that Kimari can learn, he automatically will gain it. The most difficult is Sunshine, which is obtained from the Omega Weapon.

Lulu: Rotate the Right Analog-stick clockwise as fast as possible. The number should go up the more you rotate it. The more you level up, the easier it will be to cast multiple spells.

Rikku: Rikku's overdrive combines items to create special attacks and power-ups during battle. Choose any two items to combine but two of the same kind will work.

Tidus: Just keep using them over and over. After a while, he will learn his next Overdrive.

Wakka: You can win new overdrive roulette (slots) types in the Blitzball Ranking and Tournament modes.

Easy Blitz-Ball move
To learn Blitz moves faster just set your marks on the move you want. Now when playing don't worry about setting your players to "mark mode". You don't need to, as long as they use their Blitz move you can copy it! Now your players wont run from their positions when in "mark mode".

20 free potions
At the start when you get on the ship for the first time, go down to the floor were the power room is. Enter a room with a wallet on the floor. Examine it, and Tidus will kick it and find a potion. Keep kicking it until you have 20 potions.

Healing Aeons
To heal all of your aeons at once just save the game.

Defeat the Aeons
You must do this before fighting the last boss because the boss (Sin) will enter your summon body to take over the body. So, you must kill all your summon to fight the last boss. This battle will be easier if your summon don't get to their highest power.

Defeated the last Boss (Sin)
The last boss in this game is very weird one. The size is so small, but the power is so cool. When the battle begins, cast 'Reflect' magic on it, because it will use 'Full-Cure' on it after each attack which cures 9,999 HP. When you reach Yuna's turn, cast 'Reflect' on all party members too. Use Tidus and Auron to attack and use Yuna's 'Holy' to attack it.

Secret Place Co-ordinate
When you have an airship, talk to Cid, and choose the second option in Map menu (Search). The secret places are:

Secret Place #1 X: 34 Y: 58
Secret Place #2 X: 15 Y: 41
Secret Place #3 X: 31 Y: 73
Secret Place #4 X: 16 Y: 57
Secret Place #5 X: 42 Y: 57

Win the Blitz Ball Tournament
If you win the first tournament at Luca, you will get a trophy and a weapon for Wakka. If you lose, the game will continue but you only have the trophy.

Buy all Final Fantasy X Movie and Soundtrack
Get back to Luca when you have a chance after the Blitz Ball Tournament, or before you fight the last boss. All the music that you can hear in Final Fantasy X including the music when you rest at any Inn costs 250 Gil. For the Movie, it costs about 500 Gil. You can only buy the entire movie if you have already viewed it and the soundtrack if you have already heard it. Buy the movie at the man at the left side of the cinema entrance and buy the soundtrack at the right man at the entrance too. You can also buy it after you get an airship.

Al Bhed Primer
There are in total 26 Al Bhed Primers. This book contain a complete list of how alphabetical words in Al Bhed translate into alphabetical words. So if you can complete all 26 Al Bhed Primers you can understand what the Al Bhed tribe said to you. The Al Bhed word is highlight in red instead of blue.

Cactuar Location
There are total 9 Cactuar that can be found all around the world. The location of the Cactuar are:

Oasis - Near the first Save point
Sanubia Desert (East) - In the alcove to the east, north of the tent with the save point
Sanubia Desert (West) - Search the sign near the Cactuar rock that says 20% off&
Sanubia Desert (Central) - Near the ruins to the west, look for two Cactuars running around the desert.
Sanubia Desert (East) - Near the save point under the tent.
Sanubia Desert (West) - Trapped in the treasure chest in the far west.
Sanubia Desert (Central) - Inside one of the sand whirlpools. You must exit and re-enter the area.
Oasis - Teleport back to the airship and go on the outside deck.
Sanubia Desert - Return to the Cactuar statue and the last one automatically appears behind you.

How to get the ultimate weapon
Each character has a specific ultimate weapon that can be acquired by using the Celestial Mirror. When the weapon is first found, it is equipped with No AP ability. To remove this ability and empower the weapon to its full potential, you need to find 2 specific event items for each character. Upon doing so, you must then return to the Macalania Woods and use the Celestial Mirror to power up the weapon at the large spherical crystal high amid the treetops. Below is the description on how to get the weapon.

Get Tidus' Ultimate Weapon Caladbolg
To acquire Tidus' ultimate weapon, Caladbolg, you must race and defeat the Chocobo trainer at Calm Lands. Do this by getting as many balloons as you can until your time is 0.0.0. Each balloon will take away 3 seconds from your total time. Watch out also for the flying birds that attack you from above. After winning the race, walk to the upper North-East section of the Calm Lands. The guard blocking the narrow pathway down into the gorge will have left his post, allowing you to pass. Tidus will then be able to use the Celestial Mirror to acquire Caladbolg.

Caladbolg Power Up Items
Item #1 (Sun Crest) - Can be found at Zanarkand dome when you fight Yunalesca.
Item #2 (Sun Sigil) - Can be obtained after you beat the Chocobo trainer at Calm Land with time 0.0.0

Get Yuna's Ultimate Weapon Nirvana
To acquire Yuna's ultimate weapon, Nirvana, you must capture all 9 types of fiends in the Calm Land region. After collecting them all, return to the monster arena owner. He will produce a treasure chest containing the weapon.

Nirvana Power Up Items
Item #1 (Moon Crest) - Can be found at the beach of Besaid Isle.
Item #2 (Moon Sigil) - Can be obtained after you defeat every aeon at Remiem Temple.

Get Auron's Ultimate Weapon Masamune
To acquire Auron's ultimate weapon, Masamune, you must acquire the Rusty Sword. This can be found on the eastern cliff of the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth in the Calm Lands. Take the Rusty Sword to the statue of Lord Mi and then on Mushroom Rock road. Clasko previously prevented access to this area. Place the Rusty Sword before the statute reveal a glyph. Touch the glyph to reveal the Masamune's secret location.

Masamune Power Up items
Item #1 (Mars Crest) - Can be found South of the Oldroad at Mi'ihen Highroad.
Item #1 (Mars Sigil) - Capture 10 monsters in 10 different species in 10 different regions.

Get Wakka's Ultimate Weapon World Champion
To acquire Wakka's ultimate weapon, World Champion, you must have the Celestial mirror and talk to the bartender in the Luca Cafe. If she refuses to turn it over, it's because you have been neglecting to play Blitz Ball.

World Champion Power Up items
Item #1 (Jupiter Crest) - Can be found inside the locker in the Aurochs' locker room at Luca.
Item #1 (Jupiter Sigil) - Offered as a prize in Blitz ball League matches, but only after Wakka has the Attack Reels, Statue Reels, and Aurochs Reels.

Get Kimahri's Ultimate Weapon Spirit Lance
To acquire Kimahri's ultimate weapon, Spirit lance, you must activated three of the Cactuar Tombstones on the Thunder Plains. Stand at any stone and press Square button to see the spirit of Cactuar released. After activating three stones, find the cactuar ghost flying just above the ground at Thunder Plains south, and follow it to a small, ruined lightning tower on the right side. Press Square button to send bolt of lightning to the tower, revealing a treasure chest holding the Spirit Lance.

Spirit Lance Power Up items
Item #1 (Saturn Crest) - Can be found at Mt. Gagazet, columns after Seymour battle.
Item #1 (Saturn Sigil) - Capture all blue butterflies without touching any red ones in the butterfly hunt game in Macalania Woods.

Get Lulu's Ultimate Weapon Onion Knight
To acquire Lulu's ultimate weapon, Onion Knight, return to Baaj Temple (where Tidus first woke up) and dive underwater. Swim towards the doors to the north to fight Geosgaeno. A strategy for this boss is detailed below, in the section on obtaining the aeon Anima. After defeating Geosgaeno, search the southern part of the circular underwater area and look for a treasure chest containing the weapon.

Onion Knight Power Up item
Item #1 (Venus Crest) - Can be found at Farplane at Guadosalam.
Item #2 (Venus Sigil) - You have to evade the lightning on the Thunder Plains 200 consecutive times without being hit. Return to the front of the Travel Agency and open the chest there.

Get Rikku's Ultimate Weapon Godhand
To acquire Rikku's ultimate weapon, Godhand, you must input the airship password GODHAND to open a secret location at Mushroom Rock. Move north the end of this ravine, and use the Celestial Mirror on the symbol embedded in the rock face.

Godhand Power Up items
Item #1 (Mercury Crest) - Can be found in a sand whirlpool in Sanubia Desert.
Item #2 (Mercury Sigil) - Can be obtained after you complete the Village of the Cactuars mini-game and look for a treasure chest in the sandstorm area.

Faster Money
Type weaknesspays but before you press enter, press and hold Shift. This will keep the cheat box open. After pressing enter, press the up arrow on your keyboard which will bring up the previous code (weaknesspays). Repeat to your heart's desire.

Cheat codes

Unlimited Firestorm Wall
This trick allows a fully charged Firestorm Wall to last indefinitely without having to turn it off to recharge. First, fully charge your Firestorm Wall and turn it on. Then before it turns off or runs out of power, sell or turn off your power plants until the message On Hold appears in the Firestorm Icon. Your Firestorm Wall will now remain on indefinitely unless you build or turn on your power plants. This trick works with the original, unpatched game. However, this trick does not work on the patched versions of the game.

Hijacking vehicles
Take a Mutant Hijacker into a city. Find a car, truck or a bus and select it. Now you will have control over the vehicle. They can be used as transports.

Control NOD ore processor and mining vehicle
Try this trick on the Destroy Chemical Tanks GDI mission. Position an engineer next to the NOD ore processor and wait for the mining vehicle to dock with the structure before capturing it. You will get control of the building and the vehicle.

Kill a Cyborg Commando with one hit
This trick requires the ability to build a GDI Firestorm Wall Generator and Firestorm Wall sections. Fortify your base and develop it until you have the option to build a Firestorm Wall and sections. Then, build Firestorm Walls across any sections where an enemy can get into your base. When a Cyborg Commando is over one of those sections, turn on the Firestorm Wall Generator to kill it easily.

Baby Visceriods
Order an infantry unit into tiberium until the soldiers die to create baby Visceroids. Be warned thought that the Visceroids are not friendly after becoming adults.

Adult Visceroids
When playing as NOD, launch a chemical weapon into the enemy base that has a lot of surrounding population. The people will die and turn into adult Visceroids, and then destroy the base for you. They are even a threat if the enemy has an Obelisk Of Light.

Easy building capture and profit
When playing as NOD, purchase some subterranean APCs. Fill them with engineers and a Cyborg Commando. Take the APCs within their base and pop up next to an important structure for example GDI Upgrade Center or a Tiberium refinery. Have your engineers pour out and take it over. The commando will protect the building that you capture. Should he fail, sell the building for an easy profit.

Winning with an air assault
The easiest way towards victory using an air assault is to take out the SAM sites. However, when you bomb SAM sites they just re-appear. When playing as NOD, purchase some subterranean APCs and fill them with engineers. Send them to the opposing team's base maker, take over the base maker, and quickly sell it. If the other team is NOD, you will first have to disable their power plants.

Easy way to destroy enemies
Build a Tiberium Waste Facility and a Missle Silo. Then when your chemical missile is ready, wait for your Tiberium Waste Facility to fill up again. When it does, fire your multi-missle at your opponent's Construction Yard, which should destroy it. Then, fire your chemical missile at the Weapons factory. It may not be destroyed, but you will have another chemical missile ready. Fire that missile at the Weapons Factory, which should finish its destruction. The enemy cannot build any more, or build vehicles. The chemical missile should make all surrounding troops Viceroids. The Viceroids will destroy most of the surviving buildings.

Protection from NOD ballistic missiles
For GDI commanders, the Firestorm Wall can be used as protection against NOD ballistic missiles. The walls should be placed above the base and/or in the general direction of the enemy base. They can have spaces in between them to save on power and money. The Firestorm building should be fully charged. Turn on the wall when you hear the missile launch detected warning. If you have nothing else to do, you can watch the missile dissipate into the Firestorm Wall. This was done with a base at the bottom of the map. It may work differently if your base is elsewhere. Do not send your aircraft through the Firestorm Wall while it is activated because they will be destroyed.

Tiberium vein damage
Tiberium veins will damage most vehicles, except for the following:- NOD Buggy, Wolverine and Hover MLRS. This makes them excellent units for scouting vein areas. Veins also have no effect on infantry and Harvesters.

Helicopter
First complete the mission Cop Land. Then enter the Washington Beach police station. Find the locker room (on your left) and get the cop outfit. Now enter the airbase (you won't get shot at unless you shoot one of them or start a fight). At the end of the base there will be a Hunter. If there isn't come back later. Take the helicopter. The controls for the Hunter are identical to a regular helicopter, the differences being O for unlimited missiles/unlimited and R1 for an unlimited gun.

Get Invincibility
After pausing the game press Square, L1, Circle, R1, Triangle, L2, Select, R2.

Get Unlimited Ammo

Silver Bullet mode (1 shot kills)
From the main menu, go to options, then go to passwords. Type in WHATYOUGET. Green lights will flash if you did it right. Exit passwords, then go to bonus and turn on silver bullet. Enable or disable the code with the 'bonus' option under the Enigma machine.

Skip Mission and get Gold
From the main menu, go to options, then go to passwords. Type in MONKEY. Enable or disable the code with the 'bonus' option under the Enigma machine.

Beat races the easy way
Earn up some credits to by a car thats $50,000 or more then buy a turbo kit 4 or N/A tune up 3 and install that. Now make sure your transmission is geared right so it can use all that power. After all that, go to the endurance races and race on the super speed way course (150 mile challenge). Race on that course until you get the formula 1. The F1 is the best car(s) in the game. The 150 mile challenge will take 1 hour to beat but the competition is weak, you can beat the race easily if you have the time. Just make sure you have the proper license.

Wanna Pull A Wheelie?
This works and don't overlook it. If you want to have fun with a car with over 950hp and racing modifications. You can gain speeds in excess of 800mph. Examples of cars used are the Escudo Pikes Peak, Camaro Race Car, and GT-One Race Car. Here are the steps.
1.Equip the highest possible turbo or NA tune stage possible.
2.Decrease spring rate to smallest possible value on both front and rear.
3.Decrease ride height to smallest possible value on both front and rear.
4.Set gear ratio's auto setting to highest possible level.
5.Set gear ratio's final gear to about 3.000
6.Decrease front downforce to the lowest and increase rear downforce to the highest possible value.
7.Set ASM and TCS to level 0
Now go out on the test coure and when u reach about 230mph your car will begin to catch some air.

Tokyo route 246: alaska - To get 4 cars, Gt one road car (TS020) and to get polyphony001 (formula 1 car) win the Endurance race Super speedway 150 miles four times

1835 hp
To get a car with About 1,835 horse power, get the Suzuki rally car and put a turbo stage 4 on it. With the correct gear ratio it should go around 280 mph.

Belichick Fined $50K for Grabbing Official

No, the replacement refs aren't any good. We can all agree on that.

But for coaches, the old rules still apply: No matter how bad the refs perform, and no matter how frustrated you get, you just can't put your hands on an official.

That's a lesson the NFL sent once again on Wednesday, as it announced that it would fine Patriots coach Bill Belichick $50,000 for his actions at the end of his team's 31-30 loss to the Ravens on Sunday night. Upset with the officiating in a game that concluded with a controversial game-winning field goal from the Ravens, Belichick grabbed replacement ref and line judge Esteban Garza by the arm as the two were running off the field.

The coach says he was hoping to get an answer as to whether the field goal would be reviewed. Several commentators have contended over the past few days that it was incorrectly called "good."

Belichick's actions--which even he called "inappropriate"--came just days after the league warned coaches to be respectful in their interactions with the replacement officials, who have struggled to keep up with the pace of the game. The replacements are working the games as the league continues to battle with its regular officials, who were locked out in a labor dispute several months ago.

In a very brief and Belichick-ian statement released by the Patriots on Wednesday, the coach said the following: "It was inappropriate for me to contact the official. I take responsibility for what happened. I accept the discipline and I apologize for the incident Sunday night in Baltimore."

After Effectively Accomplishing Nothing, Holmgren is Out in Cleveland

The short and mostly miserable Mike Holmgren Era in Cleveland has come to an end.

Jimmy Haslam III was approved as the new Browns owner by the NFL on Tuesday, and he wasted no time in making an impact statement: Just minutes after his approval, Haslam announced Holmgren was out as the team's president. Effective Oct. 25, Holmgren's duties will be handled by new team CEO Joe Banner, previously of the Philadelphia Eagles. However, Haslam said Holmgren would remain with the team (in some capacity) through the end of the year to help aid in the team's executive transition.

The announcement ends Holmgren's dismal tenure with the Browns--a tenure that began with great hope, only two years ago. Hired by former Browns owner Randy Lerner--a man who always seemed far more interested in Aston Villa, his English Premier League soccer club, than the Browns--Holmgren was tasked with turning a losing franchise into a winner.

Suffice to say, he failed. Since Holmgren's arrival, the Browns have posted a woeful .263 winning percentage, second-worst in the league. They also have yet to find a winning coach, a franchise quarterback or, well, any kind of identity. They simply remain the Cleveland Browns, perennial losers.

In that sense, Holmgren's removal is hardly surprising. And though Haslam said on Tuesday that he would not make any more major moves before the end of the season, coach Pat Shurmur must know that he needs to win, and win immediately, if he has any hope of keeping his job into 2013. - Tim Hyland

NFL, Officials End Impasse

America's long national nightmare is over.

On Wednesday night, after three weeks of mostly dismal officiating from the NFL's overmatched replacement refs, the league and its real officials finally came to an agreement on a new labor deal. The compromise, months in the making, arrived just in time to allow the officials to return to action for Thursday night's showdown between the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens.

The NFL said its new deal with the officials would stretch over the next eight years--the longest contract between the two parties in league history. As part of the agreement, the officials accepted changes to their pension and retirement plans (the pension plan, in particular, was a major sticking point during the negotiations) but will also see their compensation rise to $173,000 per year by 2013 (up from $149,000 per year in 2011) and $205,000 by 2019.

Though the deal must be formally approved by the NFL Referees Association later this week, real officials will work the Thursday night game anyway.

"The long-term future of our game requires that we seek improvement in every area, including officiating," Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement. "This agreement supports long-term reforms that will make officiating better. The teams, players and fans want and deserve both consistency and quality in officiating. We look forward to having the finest officials in sports back on the field, and I want to give a special thanks to NFL fans for their passion. Now it's time to put the focus back on the teams and players where it belongs." - Tim Hyland

Spurrier Says Alabama Could Beat 'A Couple' NFL Teams. Please Ignore Him.

Ah, time to dig up this mindless debate once more: The debate over whether it really is possible for a really, really good college football team to beat a really, really bad NFL team.

South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier, speaking on the Dan Patrick Show this week, said he believed that Nick Saban's current Crimson Tide team is so good that it could probably beat "a couple" of the NFL's weaker squads (looking at you, Chiefs/Jags/Browns).

Said Spurrier: "[Alabama looks] like they could beat a couple of those NFL teams that I've watched on Sundays. I think a lot of the oddsmakers out there that usually know what's going on, I'd guess that Alabama would be favored a little bit."

It may have been a mindless, harmless passing remark. It may have been Spurrier being Spurrier--hyping up the Tide enough to set them up for a big fall. I mean, the latter is certainly a possibility, as few coaches in recent memory have enjoyed gamesmanship more than the Ball Coach.

That being said, the assertion is ridiculous.

Yes, the Tide are fantastic. And yes, they are very likely the best team in college football ... by a wide margin.

But the fact remains that even the most awful NFL team (and I am well-acquainted with teams of that vintage, as I grew up in Cleveland) is stocked with players who were stars and/or physical standouts at the college level. In essence, every NFL team is a college all-star team. No college team, even a team as good (and as well coached) as Alabama, would even stand a chance.

Goodell: Evidence of Bountygate is 'Extensive'

Roger Goodell is not backing down.

Despite the fact that his original suspensions of the four New Orleans Saints players involved in the so-called "Bountygate" scandal were reversed by an NFL appeals committee, the commissioner on Tuesday decided once more to punish the four players--linebacker Scott Fujita (now with the Cleveland Browns), defensive end Anthony Hargrove (now with the Green Bay Packers), linebacker Jonathan Vilma and defensive end Will Smith.

Fujita saw his penalty reduced to just a one-game suspension, and Hargrove's penalty was reduced from eight games to seven. But Goodell upheld the original punishments levied against Vilma and Smith.

In a memo sent to all NFL teams, Goodell explained that he kept the punishments in place because, quite simply, there was too much evidence indicating that the Saints players did, in fact, take part in the bounty scheme.

Said Goodell: "The quality, specificity and scope of the evidence supporting the findings of conduct detrimental (to the game) are far greater and more extensive than ordinarily available in such cases."

Not surprisingly, the NFL Players Association backed the players and blasted the commissioner.

"For more than six months, the NFL has ignored the facts, abused the process outlined in our collective bargaining agreement and failed to produce evidence that the players intended to injure anyone, ever," the NFLPA said in a statement. "The only evidence that exists is the league's gross violation of fair due process, transparency and impartiality during this process. Truth and fairness have been the casualties of the league's refusal to admit that it might have made a mistake."

Under-Fire Reid Says Eagles' Problems Are 'Correctable'

Living here in Philadelphia, I can tell you this much: Yes, Eagles fans are just as passionate (and, by extension, just as critical and just as impatient) as you've heard they are.

And so, it's no surprise, given the current state of this team, that longtime coach Andy Reid finds himself on the hotseat like never before.

Yes, in recent years there have been some calls for Reid to be fired--there simply isn't any question that, over the past half-decade or so, this franchise has very much hit a plateau--but those calls seem louder today than ever before. Reid's Eagles are now 3-5 after a less-than-inspiring 28-13 loss to the Saints on Monday night, and while there is certainly time for the Eagles to recover, the question that many fans have at this point is whether Reid is actually capable of engineering that turnaround.

Whatever spark there used to be around this franchise--whatever sense of belief that once permeated the camp, year after year--has faded away, and there is a sense around town that the time finally has come for Reid, who has some very good years in Philly, to step aside.

Reid, as you might imagine, views things differently

After the loss to the Saints, Reid told reports that all of the problems currently ailing the Eagles--including their apparent inability to protect the struggling Michael Vick, who was under pressure all night--are "correctable mistakes." He said for the team to achieve its goals, it just needs to "do a better job."

"And that starts with me," Reid said.

Seahawks CB Sherman: 'Brady Bunch' in New England Runs 'Gimmick Offense'

Yeah, it was just one win. And a one-point win, at that.

But at least in the mind of Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, his team's 24-23 victory over the Patriots on this weekend was nothing short of a referendum on the state of mighty New England.

What Sherman seems to be telling the world, quite simply, is this: The Seahawks are legit. And the Patriots are not. Not anymore, at least.

The second-year cornerback made big waves on Sunday when he was seen talking trash to Patriots quarterback Tom Brady after the conclusion of Sunday's game. What, exactly, was the message he wanted to deliver? Well, as Sherman explained to the Tacoma News-Tribune: "Me and [safety Earl Thomas] walked up to him and said, 'We're greater than you. We're better than you. You're just a man--we're a team."

Sherman also referred to the Patriots as "the Brady Bunch," and accused New England of running a "gimmick offense" that the Seahawks easily figured out. Brady threw two interceptions on the day, including one to Sherman.

"[The media] is going to say, 'What's wrong? He threw two picks.' Well, he should have thrown five picks," Sherman told the News-Tribune. "If Earl catches every one, then it's a long day for him. People don't understand. We've got great players out here. We've got great players in the Pacific Northwest. The Seattle Seahawks have a lot of talent. People, they don't look at the film. They don't analyze anything. That's why these analysts and commentators need to shut their mouth." - Tim Hyland

Texans Accuse Titans OT Stewart of 'Dirty' Play

Last week, it was Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III making accusations of dirty play against the St. Louis Rams.

This week, it's the Houston Texans--as in, several Houston Texans--who are making the claims, and their target is Tennessee Titans offensive tackle David Stewart.

The Houston Chronicle this week quoted several Texans making claims that Stewart engaged in such over-the-line tactics as pulling the hair of defensive end Brooks Reed and throwing punches. Texans defensive end Antonio Smith went so far as to say that Stewart was doing things he'd "never seen before."

Said Smith: "I saw him try to pull (Reed's) hair out, tried to ride somebody's back, which I thought was kind of funny, actually."

Added linebacker Connor Barwin: "Everybody will say it. (Stewart) is a dirty player. He threw a punch at me. He threw a punch at Brooks."

Not surprisingly, Titans quarterback Matt Hasselback defended his teammate, suggesting that any dirty tactics employed by Stewart were matched by similar actions from the Texans.

"I saw people punch (Stewart) in the face, and there was no (flag)," Hasselbeck said. "I don't know what to say. I guess his reputation got him." - Tim Hyland
